So I'm rereading the Spike/Buffy scene again and wow. It keeps getting better with each read. The "fire" as you pointed out. And how his belief in her makes her start crying. And also, I don't thinks she's gone hunting in a while so it feels like he's prompting her to keep her guard up since she's been busy grieving and working. Like--he's been watching her back while she's been busy trying to catch her breath.
Oh. And he keeps parking on the roof. NOT BENEATH HER ANYMORE.
