There are some things I absolutely adore about it--the dialogue is extremely unrealistic but way fun, the side characters are amazing, Lauren Graham is fantastic, Rory starts out wonderfully, and Richard and Emily Gimore are among some of my favorite characters ever. It goes...really downhill, though. But it's enjoyable, I think you'll like it more than you think you will. Not great television, but it's something my mama and sister and I watch together.

Noted. I expect it to be... pleasant. In a saccharine sort of way. I suspect I shall soon be wishing for some vampires, just to liven things up and give the main cast something to slay.

But hey, Roomie watched all of BtVS after I got her started; I'm returning the favor.

It can be saccharine, but honestly not as much as you might be thinking. There's some bite to a few of the characters that helps. But I second the idea of vampires. I believe I read an awesome fic one time where Spike met Lorelei when she was a teenager....
