Let's play a game

Give me the names of two actors/characters/musicians/historical political figures/etc. and I'll tell you which one I would marry. Make it hard!

[identity profile] mollivanders.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
This might be super easy, I don't know :)

Spike vs Enver Gjokaj

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
HARD!

But I think I'd go with Enver. Because Spike and I are just too alike. We'd probably drive each other crazy. Plus, you know, he wouldn't age and I would. Plus sun allergy.

[identity profile] mollivanders.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
*drums fingers together evilly* excellent ;)

that's a beautiful icon by the way. though that sun allergy could be fixed if he just dated bonnie for a while. which... no, I can't have another crazy xover pairing right now!

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee!

Thanks! It is awesome, isn't it?

OMG SPIKE/BONNIE. *GOES THERE*

[identity profile] ahigheroctave.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
OH MY GOD! HER ANCESTORS MUST HAVE MADE THE GEM OF AMARA THAT ANGEL WEARS! *Is already writing it in my head*

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-08 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
OMG THAT IS TOTALLY CANON TO ME NOW!

[identity profile] ahigheroctave.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooo...Future Simon or Damon Salvatore.

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh!

Probably Future Simon. Which weirds me out because Simon has always seemed like a total creeper (THE DEAD WOMAN IN THE FREEZER ARE YOU KIDDING ME?), but maybe he grows out of it? I haven't seen just this latest episode yet, but in the one before that, he seemed to finally be a good guy. And Damon's too evil still.

[identity profile] ahigheroctave.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Butttt if he loves you, Damon will do anything for you.

I'm pretty torn. They're both too attractive for their own good.

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-08 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but Damon's version of "doing anything for you" is growing less appealing to me of late. He manhandled and bossed Elena around too much in this latest episode for my tastes.

[identity profile] ahigheroctave.livejournal.com 2010-12-08 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I was not fond of that at all, I'll admit. I wish they'd stop with his eyebrow acting as well, he just looks deranged lately. I really feel like he didn't do it that much before.

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-08 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
YES! The eyebrows are driving me crazy! Take it down a notch!

Your icon is beyond perfect.

[identity profile] gigi-tastic.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
anya and .... illrya

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Anya. Illyria's too inhuman. And Anya would make me laugh!

[identity profile] gigi-tastic.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
high five for being awesome!!

[identity profile] beloved-77.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Mozart or Beethoven?

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Mozart! Less moody, more lighthearted. Though I have to say that choosing between their music would be very, very hard.

Napoleon Bonaparte or Marie Antoinette?

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Setting aside the issue of me being straight ;p, I'm definitely gonna go with Marie-Antoinette. She made some mistakes, but she was a decent person, if totally out of touch with lives that weren't like hers. Napoleon was just a mess.

Julius Caesar or Cicero

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-06 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Cicero. I like me some deep thinking and oratory skills. :D I am an oratorical snob, and God loves me for it. :D

Um... Abraham Lincoln or Ben Franklin?

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
This is hard. Because when I think of Lincoln, I think of idealism tempered by pragmatism, and that is appealing to me. But when I think of Franklin, I think of 1776! and laughing hysterically.

But I think I'm gonna go with Lincoln. He would understand my depression issues.

[identity profile] prophecygirrl.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Excellent answer! I think they are both fascinating, but Lincoln especially so.

And, as a follow-up question:

Q: How much do I love that you love the movie 1776?

A: OMG! SQUEEEEEEEEE!

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
THAT MOVIE! I have seriously seen it so many times and it always, always fills me with giddy, ridiculous joy. I always always say that I'm at my most patriotic when watching 1776 or The West Wing. Because they are so delightful!

Anton Yelchin or Rupert Grint?

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD. SO HAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD. ADORABLE BOYS. WHOSE CHEEKS I WANT TO PINCH.

But right now Rupert has pretty much taken over my life, so I'm gonna go with him today. But. HAAAAAAAAAAAARD.

W.H. Auden or Robert Browning. (Chosen because they're two of my favorites. *g*)
Edited 2010-12-07 03:44 (UTC)

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Excellent choices! I love both of them!

Honestly, I probably like Auden's poetry a little more, but I'm gonna be practical. He was gay, so he wouldn't be interested, and Browning seemed like quite a good husband. So Browning it is! :D

[personal profile] snickfic 2010-12-07 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
I did not know that about Auden. Yay for practicality (although you married Marie Antoinette above, so clearly sexual orientation is a negligible factor), and also yay for Browning, the poet with a romantic love story and a functional marriage relationship.

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Ha! True! I'm being very fickle about which ones I'm practical about and which ones I'm not. But yay for functional marriages. You know how very much I adore those.

[identity profile] ever-neutral.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
Ron Weasley or Rupert Grint? ;) ;) ;)

[identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm'a go with Ron. Because I know Ron. I read all those books. I've written him! Rupert seems absolutely adorable in every way, but I don't really know him.

But hey--I feel like this is a win/win situation, you know?

[identity profile] ever-neutral.livejournal.com 2010-12-07 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! Totally. *g*
