+ Can we rename this show "Elena and Her Two Vampire Boyfriends"? Because this is what the show should be called. If ever a show (that isn't Being Human) was pushing an OT3, this one is. And it never fails to crack me up. It's always "Stefan and Damon" as a unit whenever they talk about them in reference to Elena. SO. FUNNY.

+ Steven R. McQueen, when did you get so freakin' hot? Like, seriously. You are really, really pretty now, and I like to look at you.

+ Bonnie, you are a badass, and I love you forever. But there is not one appealing thing about that Luka kid, even if his dad wasn't working with Elijah. Don't go there. He has no personality.

+ Jeremy Gilbert has a death wish. And also a tendency to fall in love really, really fast. Because this is his 3rd girl he's been in love with since the show started. Oh, kid. Guard your heart. I'm starting to feel for him with the way he gives it away so easily. Also, he's an adorable little puppy dog. And he's trying so hard to be grown up. He is winning me over. Also: hot.

+ And I am now shipping him with Bonnie. Yes, I am. I said it. I want that to happen.

+ What I don't want to happen? Caroline/Tyler still. On the other hand, I really like them as BFFs. This show does BFFs really well. Elena/Bonnie/Caroline, Stefan/Caroline, Damon/Liz, Damon/Alaric, etc. YAY BFFS ALWAYS!

+ Boo! Slater's dead! Why do they keep killing off the cool vamps? I wanted to see more of him and his seven million degrees!

+ Katherine and Stefan are locked up together! YAY! This means awesomeness will ensue! It really does!

+ Ian Somerhalder does this thing with his eyes that is starting to annoy me. On the other hand, he made me feel the Damon/Elena again this episode.

+ I do feel sorry for Tyler, but I still don't really care about him. The only good thing about him being around is that it means Caroline scenes.

+ Speaking of which MOAR MATT PLZ. LOTS MOAR MATT. Give the boy an arc! Let him find out about Caroline or something! GIVE ME HOPE FOR MY SHIP. MY SHIP THAT IS MADE OF RAINBOWS AND LOLLIPOPS AND UNICORNS AND ALL THINGS SWEET AND WARM AND WONDERFUL. I miss them.

+ Elijah is a badass. Good villain. Well cast.

+ Rose's hair really, really bothers me. On the other hand, I still like her very crisp accent.

+ Bonnie having an arc makes me incredibly happy.

+ More Alaric, please. And Jenna. And Alaric and Damon. Please.

+ I love how nobody goes to school anymore. Seriously, Elena's gonna flunk out.

+ HAHAHA WEREWOLF DIARIES ON THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. LULZ.

As soon as Stefan was trapped in the tomb, I was all OH SHOW LET THE KATHERINE/STEFAN AND DAMON/ELENA HIJINKS BEGIN!

Bonnie is such a badass. And I too am shipping her with Jeremy.

I can't tell if I'm still against Caroline/Tyler or not. I obviously love them as BFFs, but I'm no longer as weirded out by the idea of them together. I think Tyler's grown up a lot recently and his earlier gruff asshole exterior has faded and he's becoming quite a good person. And I really love how they're there for each other.

I was against Bonnie/Jeremy at first, but now I think they're kind of sweet. And Jeremy has become ten million times more appealing and attractive since last season.

I feel like Ian Somerhalder knows he has very, very intense and pretty eyes and therefore... acts with them. The eye flaring was rather gratuitous this episode I noticed.

CO-SIGNED LIKE WOW

I am not sure how I feel about Jeremy at all. Like, I make no secret of how he usually annoys the hell out of me and I just have always felt he comes off as a bratty tool, but this episode I could get behind liking Jeremy + shipping him with Bonnie. He still did dumb things, but they came off as well-characterized I-can-understand-why-someone-would-do-that dumb, as opposed to oh-my-god-child-you-are-still-an-idiot-please-get-off-my-show dumb.

BONNIE BENNETT IS MY FAVORITE AS IS CAROLINE FORBES AS IS ELENA GILBERT. They are my trifecta of awesome girls, okay, and the day either Bonnie or Caroline dies is the day this show loses its place in my heart. Elena's obviously safe, but I worry about the other two. ;_______________;

I love Rose. I love her. I LOVE HER. Katherine is still my queen outside of the aforementioned trifecta, but I love Rose and I hope we get to learn more about her. (It's unlikely, I know, but I'd kill for some flashback time re: her and Trevor. Also, ANYTHING FOR THAT LOST SCENE OF LEXI WANTING TO SET HER UP WITH STEFAN ANYTHING ANYTHING ANYTHING MY KINGDOM MY SOUL FIVE YEARS OF MY LIFE)

I'm wary of Caroline/Tyler, mostly because Tyler is still cemented as a massive douche in my head. I have grown fond of Michael Trevino due to BTS pictures/clips of him being an adorable hipster dorkface and his arguments with Candice over the legitimacy of the word "sox" in Scrabble, but Tyler? Eh. I just almost feel like they sold him as a massive douche too well and now they're putting him through werewolf trauma and I'm kind of like, "Okay, yes, that sucks, he's obvs in a panic, but I still feel there has been no sign of him being a GOOD PERSON anywhere." I'm not completely against liking him; just...WARY.

Ian Somerhalder's eye tic is OUT OF CONTROL. I don't hate it, but was it that prominent last season? I feel like it has become an obligatory fixture in Damon Salvatore's methods of self-expression.
