the book we were talking about...

For [livejournal.com profile] deird1, [livejournal.com profile] snickfic, [livejournal.com profile] ladyofthelog and anyone else who is interested:

The name of the book is Introverts in the Church: Finding Our Place in an Extroverted Culture by Adam S. McHugh. I've added it to my list.

His website is here. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but it looks interesting.

I've added it to my list.

Biggest list ever. So many books, never enough time to read them.

I used to wish that I could absorb knowledge through books. Ngl, Willow being able to do that in Season 6--that is my DREAM POWER.

Thanks for drawing attention to this book. It's going on my 'must read' list.

I wish there'd been a book like this more than 20 years ago, when I was just starting out in parish ministry, since the only role models I had all seemed to be raging extraverts, and trying to re-make myself in their image was spiritually and psychologically exhausting.

Oh I am definitely going to read this - thanks!

I got given this for Christmas. :)

Am now 20 pages in, and loving it already. It's describing me.

Oh, that's fantastic! I'm so pleased to hear it! I'll need to definitely read it myself then.
