And of course it's totally unintentional on the part of those who run things--most people are extroverts (or at least on the line between the two) and so that's what they know and they don't even realize there's another way of thinking!
*nods* The first event I helped organise, we were going through the suggested plan for the day, and I said "Um... you do realise that if you start off the day with everyone 'getting to know each other' over coffee, all the shy people will hate you, right?" and they all just stared at me blankly. A year and a half later, and I am still having to bring it up for every new event. But they really are trying to make everything welcoming... *sighs*
