I do understand your feelings! Because I hate all of those things, too! Not like you do, obviously, but there is so much fail in that scene. So much fail. For all the reasons you mentioned.

The curse isn't keeping them apart, THE FACT THAT THEY MOVED ON WITH THEIR LIVES AND FELL IN LOVE WITH OTHER PEOPLE AND GREW UP AND APART FOR THE BETTER IS KEEPING THEM APART.
