I am tempted to sign up for the Girl Saves Boy fic-a-thon.



But I'm completely unsure of what I'd write. I feel like it's way too obvious for me to write Buffy saving Spike (though obviously in character--I love how Spike so often plays the damsel in distress--yay gender reversals!). I don't want to sing up unless I've got a really set plan. Any thoughts? Are y'all signing up? What fandoms are you writing for? This is a fantastic idea for a fic-a-thon, so I hope lots of people get involved.

I vote post-NFA simply because in my head CORDY COMES BACK. She'll never be dead to me; I always feel like there's the potential that this was yet another fake-out from the PTB and she'll pop back into Angel's life at any moment. But that, I know, is just wishful thinking. *wistful sigh*

Eh, I mean my interpretation of "You're Welcome" has always been that she just ascends from her earthly body and becomes a Power for reals. (The comics now back me up, of course, but I don't consider them canonical so whatev.) So it's not all that unreasonable for her to visit when the need strikes.

What a great idea. I wish I wrote more so I could come up with a premise and just knock something out. For me, it all takes waaay too much work.

I've read a couple really great Riley fics. He's such a blank slate canon wise, you could make a couple years of marriage and some combat turn him into an interesting character!

You could also go comedy with Dawn saving Xander from some demon who is trying to seduce him. Dawn saving Andrew from being dateless at a convention would also be awesome. Hmm, I might just write that...

I am now slightly tempted to do a post-NFA fic wherein Dawn hasn't quite forgiven Spike but secretly wants to and then she has to save him and does and they repair their relationship once and for all. Because I will NEVER FORGIVE JOSS for what he did to them. Never.

i have determined i cannot do ficathons anymore, and that comment fic is more my style, but this one beckons me~~

i don't know what fandom you should do - personally, i will vote for eleusis_walks' idea of cordy saving angel because the world needs a thousand versions of that narrative, but i will settle for lilah saving wesley because HOLY OTP BATMAN that would be awesome. or fred saving gunn, but this has been known to happen on occasion. i like that this is balanced between them. otp.

I tried to resist but couldn't. It was like whoever is running the ficathon read my mind because just last weekend I was making a list of all my fandoms and noticed that suspiciously many of them involved awesome women saving their equally awesome but slightly incompetent boyfriends... :)

I checked my wip folders to see if I have anything suitable under work already and surprisingly I did :D
So I'll probably be writing Buffy/Spike set during "Showtime" or if I ran out of time - since the plotbunny is a fairly big one - something about The Mentalist (because Patrick Jane is even more of a damsel in distress than Spike).

My biggest problem with that fic is that the "Showtime" part of it is really the third one of a triptych of S7 Spike/Buffy fics and I haven't even written the first one yet :/

...on the other hand, it would also fill a square on my hc_bingo card...

But I also have this crazy idea that if the ficathon allows WIPs, then
I could try to finish When the Rest of Heaven Was Blue" (a.k.a. "Behold! ruuger's ID!") because it's pure Girl-Saves-Boy from beginning to end... plus I already have 5000+ words written in my GoogleDocs and it would probably only take about 5000 words more to finish the damn thing once and for all... *ponders*

I was thinking about writing something for the Psych fandom - it shouldn't be too hard, it's only asking for a minimum of 750 words, though I'll probably go over that. You could do a series of vignettes of Buffy saving Spike, for fic ideas :)
