People! Friends of mine!
I am back from vacation, freckled and internet-having! Despite the fact that I managed to get a sunburn rash the likes of which I have never seen (despite wearing SPF 50 at the time. Woe is me and my lily-white skin!) and stung by a jellyfish, I had quite a good time at the beach with my family. The sand was powder-soft, the water was the perfect temperature, and I got to eat lots of fried shrimp! Also, there was reading and sleeping in late and watching of old movies and the writing of a beginning for my novel. And a newfound addiction to the most fun game on the planet, bananagrams (it's like Scrabble, only way faster and more fun! Yay!). I may also have rewatched "The Pandorica Opens" and "The Big Bang" during the eleven-hour ride back home. How will we survive till the Christmas special?
But alas, now I am back to real life, and that's never a good thing. The BFF is back in town, though, and that is good. And now I get to catch up with all of y'all lovely people. It'll take me a few days to catch up on my flist, so if something dreadfully ~important happened while I was out of touch, feel free to link me here. Surprisingly, I didn't really miss the internet while I was gone, though I did miss y'all. So catch me up on your lives!

No big developments to report, other than my community college decided not to fill the position I interviewed for. It's possible we were all just really disappointing, but otherwise I'm guessing it was a financial decision.
Oh, and I'm about 2/3 through The West Wing S1 and think CJ/Danny is the most adorable thing ever.

Too bad about the job. I'm disappointed for you, but I'll keep praying for something else.
CJ/Danny is most definitely adorable. I just love CJ to death!

Oh eesh, I HATE jellyfish, but yay for Doctor Who rewatches and fun family vacay!
My journal has lots of drama and fic on it you mayyyyybe want to check out.

Yeah, at first I thought whatever was tangled around my legs was, like, seaweed. But then it started to STING. Not pleasant.
I am so confused by all the drama! WHAT IS GOING ON? I'll definitely be checking things out!

*is jealous of your beach-going and fried shrimp-eating* And I hope there was some kind soul willing to pee on you. Because of the jellyfish OMG what kind of perv do you think I am?

But I want to know about being dissed by Emmie, of course!
Ha! Earlier in the week I explained to my mama that you were supposed to pee on yourself if you got stung yadayada and THEN IT HAPPENED TO ME. And I could not pee! Just like when I have to pee for the doctor--it's not performance anxiety, it's just like my bladder knows when it's going to be required to produce and it shrivels up. It was very vexing. So I had to find a lifeguard waaaaay down the beach with a spray bottle of vinegar. And later I put mustard on it. That was gross.
Your suggestiveness made me giggle. Naughty girl!

LOL! That would totally happen to me if I was required to pee in an emergency situation. I can never pee for the doctor, either.

In other news, I realize I have latent rage issues regarding fictional characters which I will be discussing with the therapist.
In other news, my life has been consumed by work and getting the BFF's wedding settled, which is less than two weeks away. Our last-minute bridal shower/cocktail party is the same day issue #36 comes out, but the other bridesmaids have reassured me that we'll run to a comic book shop to pick up the gorgeuos Jo Chen Spike cover and that I'll have internet connections where we're baking and holding the shower so I can keep up with the wank and the LOLZ. The next day is the rehearsal, the following day is the wedding, and the day after that I drive home from LA, so I won't be up to date on later LOLZ and wank.
Oh, and I finished series five of Doctor Who. AND YOU WEREN'T THERE! I WAS TOTALLY BEREFT! You missed my capslocking about Eleven/Rory/Amy. I CAPSLOCKED AND YOU WEREN'T THERE! THE JOY OF SERIES FIVE WAS ALMOST GONE WITHOUT YOUR MUTUAL SQUEEAGE!!
Yeah. I could very well go into an off-key rendition of "My Life Would Suck Without You," but I like you too much to put you through that.
Oh, and look at the pretty icon Moscow made me!

I am imagining you in a bridesmaids dress running to the comic book shop and it is a glorious picture. But of course BFF stuff is so important. Ack! Weddings! What's up with them being so time consuming? And expensive? I will invite only people I like to mine, should I have one, so it will be small. Also, I found yet another misanthropy icon I want to upload. Don't you think three is enough? But it's an awesome one!
I WILL GO BACK AND SEARCH FOR YOUR DOCTOR WHO SQUEE. I CANNOT MISS SUCH A THING.
I would be flattered by you serenading me. And probably I would also giggle.
I love that icon! They're so pretty, our kids, aren't they?

I've probably said this before, but I absolutely love that you talk about fandom with your therapist. (And am slightly envious because I probably should discuss my fandom rage issues with my therapist, but I'm too embarrassed to admit them!)

*eyes speculatively*
You were... in Australia? Or in somewhere suspiciously Australia-like?

the writing of a beginning for my novel
I WANT TO SEE IT.

PERHAPS SOON I WILL START SHARING. It's really just a pseudo-Victorian YA fantasy novel. But it's what I can write right now, so I'm running with it.

I LOOK FORWARD TO IT.
