From what I remember, I liked Kate but thought she had more potential than the writers knew what to do with. Sort of like Martha Jones for quite a bit of her run on DW: I see her awesome, but sometimes the writers just don't write it. Of course, I think they ended up doing right by Martha in the end (I am never going to get over my love for her "This is me, getting out" speech), and I hope they did the same for Kate.

But yeah. No love for Jack from me. *sigh*

But the finale!love makes me hopeful!

this is actually exactly what happened with kate. well, what happened with kate is this:

kate was supposed to be the main character. jack was supposed to die. the network didn't like it. jack became the main character. epic otp was born. this was fine as long as jj abrams was on the show writing fierce ladies. but then s2 happened. jj left to do fringe. and lost has been unable to write fierce ladies ever since. it's a problem. so, kate, like martha, is more awesome than the writers know what to do with. unlike martha, kate doesn't have much of a fandom to back her up. but i and likeserendipity will back her up. fy.

JACK WILL GROW ON YOU. or maybe not. but that's okay. i guess. i love him.

I had no idea. That makes me mad. Stupid network. And I hate that the fierce ladies didn't get to keep being fierce. Though that's kind of exactly how I suspected things went.

Hey, I'm one of those "all the fictional women you hate" girls. I would probably back her up. :D

I DON'T KNOW. I think he sounds like the kind of character I can never stand. Which makes me sad! I don't want to dislike any characters! But I think he is not my type. But I support your love for him!

I KNOW. i am partially pissed but also partially i have no idea what lost is without jack shephard. even when i hated him, and oh, there are times - seasons (s5. kill me. and jack.) when i hate him with all i have. but he is this show. and jack/kate? what is lost without jack/kate? in the original plot, kate was going to be married to some dude on the plane and would spend the show looking for him? so where would the ships be? WHERE WOULD JACK/KATE BE? WHAT WOULD I BE DOING RN IF JATE DID NOT EXIST?

i don't know. i do not know. so, really, my problem is that kate is awesome in s1. and then she drops off the map and becomes sex object austen, and that's fucking rude.
