hm. well, speaking from AtS because that's my general area of focus, intra-text THIS IS RAPE doesn't happen much from my recollection, but angel does say he lost cordelia because some thing crawled inside of her and used her up.
however, cordelia's emotional and physical rapes in s4, fred's essential rape in s5, cordelia's metaphorical rape in s2 - none of these are mentioned as what they are. i'd have to re-watch expecting to see how it's discussed in text. that episode kind of bores me and makes me headdesk so i don't re-watch it often. when bethany attacks her rapists in 'untouched,' cordelia seems to shame her for killing them instead of just disabling them (which i have issues with; also, things cordelia would never say. i have feelings on untouched, which is actually giant and really problematic sexual abuse narrative). the visions in general are presented as a sort of violation, but it's a violation that cordelia eventually reclaims for herself (and this reclamation ultimately leads to her death). and there's a lot more that i'm spacing on right now. i'm sure there was a narrative somewhere on ats about rape but i'm spacing on it right now for some reason. but it's in my head. i'll figure it out and return.
um, lauren, you can add those to your list if they're not already there, i can't remember.
this show is a mess. btvs has just as many problems, actually, but ats is what i'm more familiar with because, you know, kiiiids.
