Not more S8 angst! NO MORE! No more tone-deaf comments from "professionals"! No more patronizing comments about how anyone who isn't happy with the direction the comics are going are just shippers or just ignorant or just stupid or ANYTHING LIKE THAT. NO. DO. NOT. WANT.

Someone! Quickly distract me from this nonsense! There's a new Community on tonight, isn't there? YAY!

In happier news, I now have like a gazillion userpics! So! If anyone wants to link me to your favorite icon posts (all the usual suspects as far as fandoms go), I’d love to do some perusing. I realized I have exactly two icons with just-Spike in them; I think I need a few more. I’m also looking for some good Community ones, maybe some X-Files stuff, Farscape probably, maybe SMG, Jessica and/or Hoyt or Jason from True Blood, and some from awesome movies. Maybe some with Daniel Bruhl’s or Enver Gjokaj’s or Chiwetel Ejiofor’s faces (as they are all my future husband. Don’t argue). Just a thought. Take a look at my icons so you can see what kind of styles I like.

OH AND I NEED AMY POND ICONS STAT. I’m having not a lot of luck finding them; the coloring most people use makes her hair look not-as-awesome as it is on the show. And I am basically ALL ABOUT HER HAIR. She may have surpassed shampoo!commercial!S5!Buffy hair for hair-that-I-love-and-covet. And also Gina Torres. That woman has awesome hair.

And in case you missed it, I’m (sort of) on tumblr now. I haven’t really done anything on there; I need to get on that. But you should be friends with me there ‘cuz I’m gonna put up pretty pictures and good music and quotes and such! Once I master it.

Gah, I am so behind on life. I have a thousand things people want me to edit/look over, so many obligations that I made. And I go home at night and just can’t make myself do them. I think I am incapable of accomplishing anything outside of an academic environment. In school, I was motivated. Now, I have zero will power.

I fail at life.

I'm drunk with icon space, I'm telling you. I just bought my first package of 70 and omg the pretty! *squees* sometimes when work is slow or sad I will just look at the icons and like sunshine, they cheer me up.

Not silly at all! I know exactly what you mean--I am exactly the same way. Exactly. I looooove to look at my icons. They make me so happy!

Well, it's sort of like an lj-lite. You just look at pretty pictures and funny vids and brief quotes/words and it doesn't take much time at all, but it's kind of like a brief shot of happy. Sort of like looking at your icons.

In Scott Allie's favor: my roommate was dressing for her really nerve-wracking job interview this morning while I was ranting at Scott Allie (loudly), and she did say my (quite loud) ranting totally made her forget how nervous she was. So yay for that!

I think I'm going to be frivolously spending my laundry money on getting more icons, and will only tell my mother about this expenditure at a later date when she can't do anything about it. The last time I did it was when I frivolously spent money designated for "school books" on seasons 1 and 2 of How I Met Your Mother, and only told her when she was already laughing at the pilot with me.

I really debated about whether or not to spend money on the icons. There’s this part of me (that sounds like my mama) that keeps asking, “Is this a wise use of your money, Lauren?” We’re very thrifty people.

Hahaha, I have that voice, too! Seriously, I was right there on the purchase page, all set to buy another icon package... and then that little voice started up. Of course, my mother is always teasing me about my "frivolous" spending (she says it sarcastically; I'm the most frugal person my age she knows), so it sounded more like my dad, in that disapproving tone he uses when he reminds me how much more money I'd be making if I'd stuck with chemistry.

*sigh* Maybe once I pay for summer session and buy all my books, I will feel better about it.

Right now I'm making basically nothing, but the only money I spend is on bills and food and gas and paying for the couch I bought in installments so that I can build credit. I've bought nearly nothing that I just want since I moved out on my own. So I figured it would be okay to do this little thing.

Aw, thanks! I was actually having trouble finding what I wanted as I waded through the general Who icons comm and the Eleven/Amy one. I was really unimpressed by the quality of them--but again: very, very picky about icons. Maybe I'll have better luck with these.

If they don't work, I'd recommend just going through the posts linked on who_daily - a lot is mediocre, but now and again you'll stumble across someone incredible. :) (maddythevampire has some of the most gorgeous icons ever, but I'm not sure how many she's made from S5, since she was a Ten-girl through and through.)

ETA: 04nbod has a few nice ones here, and I found a *gorgeous* Amy one by sarah_jones in a folder, but have been unable to locate the post it came from so I put it here, 'cause I think you'd like it. (Not sure why I'm not using it myself to be honest...)

Is the Season 8 angst regarding the post over at whedonesque? I've learned to try and ignore, but I did have to giggle at the 'spuffel' comment. I never new spuffel was for the angel/buffy/spike ship.

Community's a cute show! I love Joel McHale, and I think Jeff and Annie should be together :) I find it very cool that you like them too :)

Icons! Icons icons! First, I refer you to my buffyversetop5 post on the subject, here. Then I point out that I have been (inconsistently, alas) saving all posts with icons I snagged.

And in particular I point you to xlivvielockex's brand-spanking new icon post, from which I snagged like 15 things because she is fabulous. *points to icon*

But then I thought about how much genuine (if frivolous) joy my icons bring me, and I thought it was worth the money. :D

This is exactly the thought process I went through went I paid for my extra userpics a few months ago. Honestly, for the enjoyment I get out of them, that might be the best $10 I've spent in a loooong time.

Oh, icons....I'm waiting to get the spare money to upgrade. I want to max them out. Course, I'd prefer to have a permanent account, but I never seem to have the oodles of money needed whenever they're up for sale. In any case, those extra icons will be MINE...soon. *iz poor*
