"Xander, don't speak Latin in front of the books" Part II

Yay for thoughts by episode!

"Anne"  As I'm beginning to discover, I'm usually pretty disappointed by season premieres in this show (for instance, "Buffy vs. Dracula"?  Horrifically bad, actually).  And this one was no different.  Just meh.

“Homecoming”
Buffy and Cordy both trying to be queen?  Cordy with the spatula?  The twist ending?  Awesome.

“Band Candy”  Too hilarious for words, especially Giles and Joyce.  I. Loved. Them. Interacting.  And the revelation several episodes later that they slept together and Buffy’s reaction to that information.

“Lovers Walk”  The return of my all-time favorite interaction on the show: Spike and Joyce.  When he’s complaining to her about Dru’s treatment of him and the hot chocolate drinking and she's mothering him and I LOVE IT!.  I adore everything about Spike in this episode.  Everything.   But then with the breaking of Oz and Cordy’s hearts?  EVIL!!!!

“The Wish”  Very It’s a Wonderful Life, but I kind of love that about it.  Also, Cordy is awesome.

“The Zeppo”  This episode is absolute genius, I cannot even tell you.  Finally we as an audience understand what it’s like to be Xander—and the hints that we’re missing the biggest, most dramatic stuff the show has ever seen, but we’re Xander, so we don’t know.  Though I’m not a big fan of the idea of him losing his virginity to Faith, someone he doesn’t really care about.

“Doppelgangland”  I worship Alyson Hannigan in this episode.  Especially how cute she is when she’s trying to pretend to be evil.

“Earshot”  The scene where she can first hear all of her friend’s thoughts?  And Xander’s only thinking about sex and Willow’s only worrying about if Buffy will need her anymore.  But even better is that Cordy thinks something and then says the exact same thing.  And Oz’s deep, philosophical, existential ponderings.

“The Prom”  The “Class Protector” award was one of the most beautiful things on the show.  But it kind of broke my heart that Xander didn’t get the Class Clown award.  Poor boy.  And then the sadness at the end but with Angel showing up was love.

“Graduation Day: Part Two  Not as good as “Becoming: Part Two” but I could probably write essays on the symbolism in it.  Good stuff.

“The Freshman”  I love that Buffy is feeling small and alone and out of place because that was exactly how I felt for my first semester of college.  Very realistic.

The Parker episodes  I have never wanted to kill any character the way I wanted to kill him.  I really, really wanted Angel to show up and rip his throat out or Xander to stand up for his best friend and kick the guy’s ass.  It made me feel a little better later when Riley punched him, though.

“Something Blue”  Too funny!  Especially the Buffy/Spike cuteness.  I really liked the part about what they’re going to put on the wedding invitations and their discussion about their names.

“Hush”  Joss is a genius in a million kind of ways.  Everything about this is love, but y’all know that so I won’t go into too great of detail.  Except for one thing: the exposition scene with Giles bringing his own music and the incredible overheard projections with all the poorly-dawn blood and gust.  Too much love.  Also, the Gentlemen are scary as hell.

“This Year’s Girl”  Fantastic episode.  Although, like I said, I became too sympathetic for Faith.  The cameo by the Mayor made my life.  Dream sequences were awesome, too.

“Who Are You?”  A classic, definitely.  Great acting by SMG and Eliza.  And such a fun premise.  I pretty much love everything about it.

“Where the Wild Things Are”  One of the worst episodes, and completely pointless.  Although Anya was funny.

“Primeval”  Now, I really did like the idea of Giles, Willow and Xander joining their essences with Buffy’s.  But that’s about all I have to say about this episode.

“Restless”  The commentary was just as much fun as the episode.  Oh, how I love commentaries.

Have I mentioned that Spike is really hot?

Y'all, I must write for television someday.  I swear, one night you'll be watching television and the episode will end and you'll think "Dang, that was great television" and then the screen will fade to black and then you'll see "Executive Producer" and then my name and you will all love it!

And then my shows will be on DVD and I'll get to do lots and lots of commentaries for them and other dorky people will watch them.  And it will be awesome.

Buffy and Cordy both trying to be queen? Cordy with the spatula? The twist ending? Awesome. Seriously one of my favourite favourite moments of this series. It was just too perfect.

I worship Alyson Hannigan in this episode. Especially how cute she is when she’s trying to pretend to be evil. Ahh, wasn't she adorable?

And I would totally watch anything you'd come up with so yes. Get on that. ;)

Heehee! "Homecoming" was hilarity at its best. And it reminded me all over again of why I heart Charisma Carpenter. And spatulas (which makes me think of "The Weird Al Show." Which I'm probably the only one who ever watched. And wasn't that weird syntax?)

And I would totally watch anything you'd come up with so yes. Get on that. ;) Heehee! Thanks! I've actually started really getting into the idea. I told my academic adviser about it and he thought it was cool. And since I've pretty much been talking to anyone who will listen about the Strike, it tends to come up in conversation. You'd be surprised (or maybe not) at how many people don't think about shows even having writers. They're all really surprised that I would bring it up or think about doing that.
