Oh god, YES! The only way I can ever see Buffy and Angel working out is in a world free from conflict, where they can just stare into each others' eyes (or whatever it is that they do when they're together. That's pretty much the only thing that comes to mind for me). As soon as a conflict arose - in their relationship or anywhere else - they would finally have to try to mesh their two world views, their different approaches, their two leadership roles and things would just fall apart in a heartbeat.

Well, either a world free of conflict or a world where Buffy regresses into a state of permanent 15-year-old-ness, where Angel is allowed to take the reins in every aspect of their lives, including slaying. And while I think that happens a lot of the time when they're together (excepting that one time when she came for Faith and he refused and it went pretty much how I'd see any interaction between them going from there on out), I don't think she could regress to that state permanently. It usually happens because he arrives for a very limited time when she's feeling particularly vulnerable.
