lirazel: Final shot of the OT3 from Man from UNCLE ([film] not having a very special day)

(no subject)

There's a meme going around Tumblr where you make a list of your 100 favorite movies on this site, and then people can see how many of them they've seen.

Being me, I also made ones for books and tv, too.

So if you're so inclined, you can see how many of my favorite tv shows and movies you've seen and how many of my favorite books you have read.

And even if no one is so inclined, it was still fun to make. Like I said over there, I am a librarian. Of course my idea of a good Friday night is making lists.

My stats are
Shows - 33%
Movies - 32%
Books - 16%

I decided to only count shows where I watched enough to form an opinion about it, and movies and books where I finished them. :)

Oh, gosh, I have no idea which of the Betsy-Tacy books I did or didn't read!

I must read more Robin McKinlay! I enjoyed Spindle's End and Beauty, but from your list I can see there are plenty more worth checking out.

Thanks! How sad about her husband.

I'm eyeing Sunshine and Chalice for April reads...

Ha, I have seen 12 of your fave TV shows & 27 of your fave films, and I suspected I'd be even further out on the books, because there's so much more UK/US failures to cross the ocean, but I clocked up 34 and the site even condescended to compliment me on my prowess in matching you literar-ily. ;-)

Some of all of the above, especially films & books I might not necessarily remember in more than the haziest detail & a couple of the Hollywood golden age classics I didn't actually like much, but most of the ones I knew I also enjoy a lot, or did at one time or would even make my own faves list, if I had one. I feel like I'd forget everything the second I tried to make a list of my own, and also I'd be SO obscure. Anyone getting high scores would have to marry me immediately. Platonically, but whatever. We need to share the dvd/book collection for the good of humanity and also match on Yuletide. XD

But OTOH, also a librarian. It's not as if I have a dozen other things to... oh wait. I do!

I did wind up wasting ALL DAY making a very useless Top 100 Movies list for myself, which after 40 got almost completely random, lol. And I take it back, if anyone else but me has watched all of these, I am running away very fast: https://www.listchallenges.com/thisbluespirits-top-100-movies

ETA: I am really impressed, though, that it was able to find everything, even the most obscure stuff I've ever watched!

42%? I might need to propose after all... ;-p

Right? That's how I felt when I made my books list!

I tried doing a TV one and it fell down there a lot more, oddly on some things that - for elderly Brit TV - are comparatively well known and even have R1 DVD releases (e.g. Enemy at the Door, which is a weird omission), whereas some that I might have expected not to be there, were. So it likes listing what it likes listing (individual installments of film and TV and books) but it's a bit more hit and miss on whole telly series! But you can make an entry for them yourself anyway, so that's cool.

Shows: 18%
Movies: 51%
Books: 15%

Counting shows I've seen a reasonable number of episodes of, rather than just the odd one here and there.

I've seen a lot more of your movies than I'd have expected because I'm really not a movie person, but you picked a lot of Golden Age of Hollywood movies and my mom loved those so I saw tons of them as a kid because she was watching them. I don't remember much about some of them, though!

TV Shows: 15/60 (25%)
Movies: 35/100 (35%)
Books: 3/110 (3%)

I almost didn't bother with the books list since I'm not a terribly voracious reader, and what I do read is predominantly horror so I didn't expect there to be a lot of overlap, but I was pleased to discover my score was not 0%, so that was nice surprise lol!

The Crystal Cave, Ella Enchanted, and Little House in the Big Woods, all of which I read quite some time ago. I do have Left Hand of Darkness and Kindred on my to-read list, so hopefully at some point I can add those to the list too!

Also, I laughed at the call-out ask you got over Ella Enchanted. When I read the first sentence I thought it was going to be about Ella's curse (since I've seen people get upset over it in the past), but no, it was the centaurs. Lol! XD

For books, surprising neither of us, a full 34 or 31%!

(It's really not even worth my trying the movies and shows sections; I'm totally cinematically uncultured.)

This i so much fun, and I have done one for my books too. We share 42 books, 11 tv shows and 14 albums. :D
