The thing with watercolours is that it looks relaxing, but can be stressful if you expect perfection because it has a mind of its own, and acts completely differently than oils or acrylics. You just have to go with the flow and let the paints take the lead.
(people also say that crochet is relaxing, and it probably is, unless you're like me and have sausages for fingers and hate math, in which case it's torture :D)
But my philosophy about arts and crafts is to just have a go and see if you like it. As I told a friend who was disappointed that their work didn't look like they planned when we were at a pottery class together a while ago, art isn't about replicating things, it's about expressing yourself.
