Honestly, the Caprica pilot didn't thrill me (I didn't really like many of the characters, TBH, and the ones I didn't like are not awesome enough to hate or anything), but I am in the minority. So I'm gonna watch it anyways (I love me some Jane Espenson!) and I look forward to any of y'all's thoughts.

Also, is it crazy that I'm already worried about what Enver Gjokaj's going to do next? I mean, I think he's talented enough to be a huge movie star, but I'd much rather have him on a really good TV show where I can watch him every week. I like the idea we were throwing around on whedonesque about him playing every character in some show. YES PLEASE.

Maybe Jane Espenson will hire him? I think he could easily play part of the mafia the Adamas are all entangled in. He could be all conflicted and stuff! It would be epic!

That should happen.

i didn't really love caprica until the end and then i was like "oh my heart" and i am interested to see what happens when the cast expands because as it stands there isn't any character in particular i omglove but scott porter is going to be on the show and i love his faaaaace. we'll see how it goes - rdm works best with an ensemble cast and he doesn't really have that yet.

also i too am terrified about enver getting another job BECAUSE HE MUST HE IS SO TALENTED I CAN'T HANDLE IT. i would secretly love him to be on caprica, because if caprica is anything like bsg, it will make people's careers and that's a beautiful thing.

And I really, really hope there are some characters I can love, because it's gorgeous to look at and it's got some great writers and I like some of the themes. I'm definitely rooting for it.

I think the pilot is the only one that's aired, so you should be able to watch that before the new episode tonight! I had no idea he was appearing so early in the show, though.

I haven't actually seen the Caprica pilot yet. I am kind of ambivalent about the show because it's not like any of the characters I'm invested in from BSG are ever gonna make an appearance. But, of course, I'm still gonna tune in for the Marsters XD

I love me some Jane Espenson!

As much as I love her, I sorta felt sometimes she was not a good fit for BSG (e.g. The Passage, Deadlock). I'm hoping she'll fare better with Caprica.

Yeah, I'm not into any of the characters at all yet. I just don't really care. But I hope that'll change; I can always use one more show to be invested in.

I actually never followed which episodes she wrote on BSG, so I can't comment on her fit there, though I will definitely take your word for it. One difference is that she has a great sense of humor and playfulness, and BSG...doesn't (well, except for Baltar. Sometimes). So I can see that not translating to BSG.
