Fannish Friday: What You're Into

I want to do a Fannish Friday, but I have no ideas right now, so I'm just going to ask: what are you into right now? What's making your little fannish heart flutter?

I actually haven't even had time to feel fannish lately, what with traveling and exhaustion. But today is the 13th anniversary of Infinite's debut, so on my way home from work I'm going to listen to a playlist of my favorite of their songs and revel in nostalgia and think about all the joy they've brought me over the years and how many friendships I found via loving them and how different my life would look if I'd never stumbled on grainy YouTube videos of their early reality shows and become inexplicably hooked.

So happy anniversary to the boys (including Hoya) and happy Friday to y'all!

Someone I know on mastodon is hosting a reread of the book, where we read and discuss it one chapter per week, and every monday as we start a new chapter I am just all aflutter with delight at getting to discuss this book with people! It's SO GOOD and I care SO MUCH.

Also I was 100% singing along with "Hysterie" on the way to B&N to pick up a couple more birthday presents for S.

anyway. I am kicking around the idea of writing up everything I have learned about Kazakhstan in relation to the dudes in anticipation of the album release in July. This is a terrible idea and I need someone to talk me out of it because I start giving up more time to this rabbit hole (oh looky).

One thing I really appreciate about you is how becoming attached to particular celebrities makes you want to know so much more about their culture, and your range of interest keeps widening. I know it must be kind of exhausting for you in particular, but I feel like it says good things about your curiosity about life!

Right now I am rewatching Veronica Mars (and also Elementary and Teen Wolf). I'm having SO MUCH FUN getting shippy about Logan/Veronica, and just enjoying the very silly plots.

I just finished a big binge of the show Rectify, which I loved in the most heart-clobbering way. It was filmed in & is set in the south (Georgia, to be precise) and has a real southern gothic energy, so it sometimes made me think of you and wonder what you would think of it!

I have literally never heard of it, what is it about???

The IMDB summary is: Daniel Holden must put his life back together after serving 19 years on Georgia's Death Row before DNA evidence calls his conviction into question. Not necessarily the most inviting premise, haha, but it's a really lovely (er, in an understandably often sad and Puts You Through It way) family drama with such good acting and characters! I just loved it.

Oh wow, that's really interesting! It's unreal to me how much good TV there is out there, so much that I haven't even heard of a lot of it!

Yes! We are truly in an exhaustingly abundant era of good tv. This show was made by the Sundance Channel, so suuuuper tiny network. I am committed to spreading the word about its existence because it was so gorgeous!!
