Here via vriddy. I've been following (and loving!) this discussion, and I'm with you about how fandom interaction has changed. Once in a while I will visit Tumblr or Twitter, if there's a link to a post there that interests me. There will be a Tumblr post, long and well-thought-out... and of course, being Tumbler there is no discussion, just a bunch of likes and reblogs. And I find it hard to understand why anyone would take the time to write an in-depth article about an interesting topic and not want anyone to discuss it. But I assume that's exactly the case - they're only interested in how many likes and reblogs they get. It's a weird world these days... And I guess it's only going to get worse (until the collapse of civilization anyway).
