I need some brainstorming help!
It's an arranged marriage fic where Wangxian live at Lotus Pier. (This is a canon divergence where alliance marriages between the sects are more important than in canon.)
I want a big part of the fic to be about LWJ standing up to Madam Yu when she mistreats WWX, but I also want it to be about sibling relationships. The idea is that Jiang Cheng is going to be in trouble for [something] but WWX takes the punishment in his stead because he really loves his brother! (Obviously at other times in their relationship it's the other way around--a lot of this is a reflection on how the Yunmeng siblings try to protect each other and how that's a kind of sibling relationship that LWJ hasn't had to confront before.)
And then Madam Yu is going to whip WWX with Zidian but LWJ is like YOU WILL NOT TOUCH MY HUSBAND!
Anyway, the thing is that I can't figure out what [something] should be. Can any of you think of something that Jiang Cheng would get in serious trouble for that WWX could take responsibility for? Obviously it can be disproportionately small since we know that Madam Yu loves to overreact when she can blame WWX. But I need a something that's a big enough deal that she'll get out Zidian, and I can't think of anything!!!
