Just watched the first episode and I don't know if he's supposed to be that creepy but he is. I take it it isn't toned down in the later episodes? :/ It's less squicktastic than Twilight because they're both adults but...still!

Well, there are some great things about the show. It's just that the main characters aren't necessarily one of them. The side characters are consistently fantastic, and it's been a long time since I've been as invested in a character arc as I am in Jason Stackhouse's. So...pros and cons. Though I definitely don't blame you for not wanting to watch after this!

No, I really don't think he is. Really, it's kind of like with Edward...you get the impression that the creator really has no idea just how creepy he is. Apparently in the books, she has a new love interest in every book, but I don't think that's carrying over to the show.

And no, it isn't toned down. She does, on occasion, stand up for herself and let him have it, but I really hate vampire!Bill. Of course, I'm not crazy about Sookie either, so I mostly ignore them and focus on the awesome side characters.

I don't ship Eric/Sookie, mostly because I can't see what it is he sees in her at all, but I like him as a character 1000x more than Bill, and I love that he has the last word in the vid! Makes me happy!

Haha! I actually used to like the name Sookie (probably because when I was little, my grandmama used to play the piano for us and we'd all sing, and there was this one song about a girl named Sookiee...long story), but he has RUINED IT FOREVER.

Haha, aww, well I'm sorry Bill ruined a name for you! Even more reason to stake slap him! If Edward Cullen were more southern and less sparkly, I think this would be the result. The major reason I like True Blood way more than Twilight is because Sookie actually stands up for herself and isn't afraid to "disobey" Bill, no matter how annoying I find her sometimes.

And aww, yay!! I love Wash/Zoe, too. They were the best married couple ever. And ooh, River/Dean...interesting. I'd never thought much about that. I'm kind of a Dean/Kaylee girl when it comes to crossovers, but I really, really like the idea of River with him now that I'm thinking about it.

Don't worry, I don't like Mal/River, either - I never understood that one, and anyway, Mal is old enough to be her dad (which kind of squicks me). Incest will never be my thing either. *shudder*

Bill infuriates me not only because of that constant AH MUST PRATECT SUCKY! bit but also because he never gets it. She doesn't listen to him a thousand times, and he still keeps trying. It's infuriating!

Well, I've written River/Dean, which is usually what it takes to make me really get into a pairing. But I think Dean/Kaylee would make for fun fic--not an ongoing relationship, I don't think, but a fun fling where neither one gets hurt and they both have fun.

Mal is old enough to be her dad (which kind of squicks me). Incest will never be my thing either. *shudder* Oh, amen.
