I did some searching and found this for you, though I will add that as the identifying-Jewish-but-not-all-that-observant kid of an assimilating NYC family (i.e. my grandfather reportedly grew up speaking Yiddish, though I don't remember ever hearing him speaking it as an adult) who thus gets extremely prickly about critiques of people's decisions to assimiliate (where assimilation = less ethnic = Bad and Cowardly and resistance to assimiliation = more ethnic = Good and Upright) I wanted to fucking strangle the author pretty much throughout.
