- I am quite annoyed both by the BC casting and the fact that they're rebooting Khan in the first place. I suppose it makes some sense to reboot since this is an alternate universe and so the same major plot points should be happening, but the lack of creativity disappoints me. OTOH, the first movie managed to copy TOS while still being ~new and shiny~, so maybe the sequel will pleasantly surprise, too. But ugh, the casting. I've never seen BC in anything, I have no desire to, and this role makes me even less enthused to watch him. Benicio Del Toro was originally in talks for the role. I would have so preferred that. :/
- I was content with Mark's reaction (I think more enthusiasm is warranted, but given that he knows about the AR, I guess it's good enough), although I'm worried that "Crush" will ruin everything. Hopefully "Intervention" will make up for it, though.
- I've gone to the movies by myself multiple times before, including to see "Thor." I've also never understood why it's considered weird. I want to see Avengers so badly, but I promised my brother I'd take him to it, and I think he'd be irked with me if I went alone first. I'm hoping-hoping-hoping we can go on Thursday.
- I'm not a Scarlett Johansson fan. I don't hate her or anything, but I've always felt that she's sort of bland and overrated because of her beauty
I feel the same way, except I did use to kind of dislike her because in almost every movie I'd seen her in, she was sex-ed up and morally-ambiguous-but-not-in-a-fun-way. And I was annoyed that she apparently couldn't act without sex-ing it up, but then I got older and more aware and was like, well, maybe those are the roles she's offered, and Hollywood is awful to women, and stop slut-shaming, etc. So now I am mostly ambivalent about her, but I'm hoping that Avengers makes me love her.
- + I am now dreading Anne Hathaway as Catwoman even more than before. DO NOT WANT.
Wait, why? Do you not like her or are you just worried about the characterization/sexualization of female comic book characters?
