Yessss, Bereft is truly one of the crowning jewels of the season! I think, though, that all my feelings really crystallized around ep sixteen, and then I suddenly realized I cared so much more about these kids than I thought I did. Like, I was really into everything beforehand/had feelings about some things, but that was the point in the show where I just was LOST FOREVER and then rewatched everything beforehand multiple times and wept messily into my Cheerios. It was, uh, an experience. So basically everything just gets better and better, all of it was beautiful and all of it hurt, etc.
AND YES ARTEMIS AND ASSASSIN LADY YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE SO. MANY. FEELINGS. And lollll, that scene with Aqualad and Robin is just the weirdest, and also.....just offensive, because you have the POC leader basically saying he's just a ~placeholder~ until the immature white kid with a ~destiny~ comes into his own. Thankfully when they build on that later it's handled better, I feel, and with more respect to the complexities of each character instead of just being "I'll take over until you're ~ready~" nonsense.
M'GANN IS MY DARLING. Which we knew. And lolllll so many people don't like it but I love the "Hello, Megan!" thing more than I can stand. At least it actually becomes story-relevant in a big way later? So at least there's a purpose to it that you can look forward to.
Wally/Artemis is a thing and I just never know how I feel about it? Like, okay, I'm really not fond of it at all but it's a ridiculously popular ship in fandom and lots of people whose journals I lurk in love it and meta about it all the time; I just.......IDK, I HAVE SO MANY ISSUES. But I'll hold off on talking about it until you've seen all their stuff proper. Maybe you'll like it + convert me! Or at least, like. UNDERSTAND.
