Five characters who are annoying, but that you love anyway

1. Andrew Wells. He's whiny and has little social skills and is totally ridiculous and never seems to realize how serious things are, and I should hate him. Instead, I love him madly. I also may relate to him sometimes. Geek solidarity!
2. Dawn Summers. Actually, yes, I do think she's annoying in S5 at times. That's kind of the point seeing as she's the little sister (sorry, little sisters of the world, but us big sisters know that you can be hella annoying. We still love you anyway).
3. Tom Haverford. He would drive me craaaaazy in real life, but somehow Aziz Ansari just imbues him with this essence that just reminds you of the joy in the universe. (See also: Jean-Ralphio).
4. Nathan Young Ugh. I should hate this kid so much. He's totally obnoxious and way, way too over-the-top and the things that come out of his mouth are completely unacceptable at least 87% of the time. But I'm fond of him anyway and I do not know why.
5. Buddy Garrity. I don't know that I love him, but he's so incredibly well-constructed and I understand him. He's so, so human: he's a fantastic character. But the faces Eric pulls whenever Buddy shows up CRACK ME UP because he annoys Eric so much and Eric, babe, I totally understand.

I am in a conference, catching up on LJ, and laughing at that gif is not helping my cover. But oh my god, I hope that's real. And at a big Olympic like event.

I just keep watching it over and over! It's mesmerizing! I can't get over the way he doesn't even try to curl his body or touch the vault--he just catapults himself over it like that's what you typically do! It makes me want to weep with laughter.

So understandable. He's really a horrible person in a lot of ways, but I find him endearing. Good casting, I suppose.

TOM HAVERFORD. How do I love thee, Tom? Let me count the ways. He's so freaking ridiculous. I just adore him all the way to my toenails. And he's so totally one of those people who, in real life, I don't know if I would want to hug them or beat the crap out of them. Sigh. My feelings about Tom Haverford are so complex. He's just so great. And Azizzzzzz. How are you so perfect, with your big, gleeful face?

Also, word about Dawn. I totally found her annoying in S5 and S6 and 7 at times (ahem, Him)--but that's the whole point.

And what in the world is with that gif? Maybe that dude was just filling in for someone--he usually does rings or something. And he thought, pfft. How hard could vault be? I'll just lie and tell them I've done it before. No big deal. Then, WHEEEEEEE--he flew threw the air with the greatest of ease. That's the story I'm going with.

Tom is just delightful. And I really think 100% of the reason is Aziz.
