Yeah, this is more what I was trying to get at--speaking of the fandom dynamics as opposed to the wider social ones. I think a lot more people are more familiar with social justice ideas now then they were at the beginning of this particular fandom. And yes, you're right that no doubt this probably has a lot to do with a bunch of us getting together and talking about it.
