Quite possibly. But I do think that word is very, very much more commonly used now that it was 15 years ago, outside of the sphere of people who consider themselves really feminist. The person was pointing out that that word never popped up back when the first few seasons were airing, where now I see people who haven't watched the show before using it all the time.
