Yeah, sometimes the micro-histories get confusing. I think that feminists have been talking about slut shaming and related phenomena for a looooong time, but various segments of internet culture take a more rules-based approach, in which norms are established faster and more uniformly among people who might not previously have felt accountable to the ideas they represent. If that makes sense, I'm not sure how to phrase it :).
