can we please talk about Miranda?
And how all of you should watch it this very moment? BECAUSE YOU SHOULD.
I am not a sitcom fan. The genre doesn't really do it for me, Designing Women and That 70s Show aside. But Miranda is flawless, because Miranda Hart is the greatest person who ever lived.
Miranda is a thirty-something Brit whose mother thinks she's a failure because she owns a joke shop instead of having a real job and she hasn't ~found a man~. But she has the greatest sense of humor ever and hilarious friends and is basically my favorite, most awkward, most delightful person alive, okay?
The first episode didn't win me over, but once I was three or four episodes in I COULD NOT STOP WATCHING. And now I'm going into withdrawals and wondering how I'm going to survive while waiting for a new series which I need NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW.
I am wholeheartedly in love with the show (thanks to everyone pimping it on tumblr *coughelyssacough*) and have now made it my mission in life to convert as many people as possible to Mirandaism.
Possibly the best thing about me telling you to watch the show is that YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE NOT TO. No, really! You don't have to do anything! You don't have to download! You don't have to buy DVDs! You don't have to find a streaming site! You just have to go to...youtube!
That's the first part of the first episode, but all of the episodes are ON YOUTUBE. SO GO FORTH AND WATCH AND BASK IN THE GLORY, OKAY?
Funniest thing: last night I wanted to show my mama and my aunt, who were visiting me, just a one minute clip that I knew they'd find funny. This one minute clip was at the beginning of an episode, so I showed it to them, they laughed, and then I went to close the window. And they were both like, "NO! THAT'S FUNNY! LET'S FINISH THE EPISODE!" So the three of us finished the episode and laughed and I was delighted that they loved the show as much as I do. Family bonding time, y'all.
