Well, that’s not anything he ever expected a woman to say.


Oh she has, and then some. I thought it made sense that by the end of the series (really starting with S5) Buffy looked closer to SMG's actual age than Buffy's supposed age (as she did in the first 3-4 seasons). That may have had something to do with SMG having more control of her image by then, but it fits the character so well - who has died twice (three times if you count her flat-lining in Villains), saved the world multiple times, killed her first love, been abandoned over and over...she's lived a thousand lives, our girl has.

BTW - this section reminds me so much of something my mom said on her 40th birthday party (I still remember the cake we got a neighbor to make, and the presents, etc) : "After everything I've been through I deserve to be 40." She said it with a smile and a joking tone but I think she wore it like a badge of honor. I think Buffy would, too.
