Well, once again, I just love this to bit and pieces. You write such poetic prose! I love all the dark/light imagery and how each is contained in Buffy and Spike in conflicting and confounding ways. And I especially enjoyed your exploration of the irony that a quintessential California girl has been destined (doomed?) to a life in the dark. I mean, of course I know that part of the whole point of the character is to juxtapose this fluffy little girl against her identity as a savior, but you've come at it from a different place. I adore your Buffy.
