I was certain I'd left a comment when I first read this a few weeks back, but apparently didn't ? My bad, because this is GORGEOUS. Not everyone can write a good story w/out using dialogue and be true to the characters but dear god you do it here. I can absolutely see this happening and it's the spare, elegant style, the lack of excessive details, that allows me to create the visual picture in my head.
