(Because one word : UGHHH) Also, I wish for us to have an extensive conversation about idols all over the world because it's actually fascinating how The Industry is an enhanced microcosm of what's going on in the rest of the world (especially regarding the correlation objectifying and slut-shaming, privilege and norms). Let's do that, yes? Just not right now, because I have people coming over and real life to cater to, but someday soon! Because the way the industry positions itself (and positions the idols/stars) is both terrifying and fascinating. The mixture between whole role model and dream-person (and sometimes wet dream) is so very disturbing for the position it puts these kids in (and by extension, us fans, who were told to aspire to that our whole life) as far as oppression, agency and self-realization goes. UGH I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELLINGS ABOUT THIS, WHY MUST I BE GOING!!! WOE.
