It's not a problem with DW. It's the feed reader's authentication that's an issue.

LJ's feed process doesn't support authentication, so only unlocked posts can show up on someone's LJ flist via a feed. (I've never tried it in reverse, though, so if you're feeding LJ through DW, I'm not sure if it would work.) Here's the post I made explaining it when I set up my journal.
