Oooh, I am jealous! We got no snow, and thus I am at work, and have to go to class tonight. I do not like this. I want more vacation.

Novel-writing! How exciting - is it leftover from NaNo or something new?

It's brisk and cold and not snowy here in California. Then again, cold for us is 52 degrees, so who are we to complain?

Heh, this describes my situation exactly! The Atlanta metro area has shut down for the day, and it's extremely doubtful that things will be much better tomorrow.

It's something new, actually--I decided the NaNo novel wasn't working. But hopefully this one will; I really, really want to finish something this year, both to hopefully start looking for an agent and to prove to myself that I can.

I am jealous of your weather. I have no desire to live in California, but YOUR WEATHER. *covets*

Yeah, Nashville's probably pretty shut down--I should check the news. The salt trucks are out in force, though, and even have cleared my street, which is a bitty side-one, so I'll probably have to go in tomorrow.

How many inches did y'all get? It looks like about four or so for us, which is a whole freakin' lot. And we might get more tonight.

Um . . . I broke the spinner a while back washing a king-sized blanket with a full load, but my dad did a quick fix and now the spinner's not working again, and my clothes are still sodden instead of having the spin cycle wring the clothes out. Oops.

Gonna leave a note for my mom and go to the gym . . . because even though it's totally my fault, I have no money for a new washer, even if that's what my guilt demands as restitution.

It's about four inches in my neighborhood as well, though in other parts of the area it's closer to 6-8 inches. Which is CRAZY for this area. This morning, the Sheriff's department in my county declared every road in the county "impassable", and the temperature isn't going above freezing today, so I don't see things changing very much for tomorrow.

Oh, sucky! I'm sorry! I hate that for you.

I heard that it got to almost 13 INCHES south of town. Which is INSANITY, I cannot imagine.

We have nothing so far, but they've cancelled classes from 5pm to 11am tomorrow. So one of my classes has been cancelled already! \O/

Oh, I know! We had an ice storm when I was a little girl (you might remember it--it probably got down as far as y'all?), and the electricity was out for several days, and I remember being so cold and my mama hanging quilts over our big windows at the house and rolling up towels and putting them at the bottom of the doors to the outside, trying to keep the cold out any way we could. Miserable. I really don't know how people survived before heaters, I really don't.

Hopefully it'll head your way! We're supposed to get a little bit more, so it wouldn't surprise me. Yay for cancelled classes!

Oh, to live in a world where snow on the ground would equal work cancellation and more time at home. You lucky thing. I hope you enjoyed your day off!

I definitely remember that ice storm. 1996, I think? Or maybe '95. We lost power for three days. It was so miserable.
