picspam: veronica mars genderswap cast
I seriously can't believe I finished this! It's been stewing in the back of my mind for months and months and months, but I almost never thought it would come to fruition. But here it is! eilowyn and madcap_shiny for helping with the casting (Lexi, you deserve an AWARD for finding me a Weevil!), and to marketchippie for helping me figure out how to do the picspam.
I had originally thought I'd write an explanation for each pic, but now that I've assembled all the pictures, I think they stand reasonably well on their own. But if you don't quite understand the reasoning for any of them, please let me know--I'd be glad to tell you my thought process!
Notes: I've stuck to seasons 1 and 2 only because, well, I've never actually watched all of S3. Also, this is my first ever picspam, so it's not as aesthetically pleasing as I'd wished, but I hope you enjoy and that it doesn't make your eyes bleed!

Okay, I don't actually know half of those people (I'd love to hear more about Veronica and Logan, since they are of course my OTP and I wanna know why these people are worthy, lol), but the ones I do are brilliant. Candice Accola can totally do airhead and/or asshole, but she could also play the serious Dick you probably didn't get to see if you didn't watch S3. :) Gina Torres would be a perfect bad-ass Clarence Wiedman. Smidge as Lamb, brb lolling forever. ALLISON JANNEY OMG.
Also, it cracks me all up that you switched Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna. It's the mirror-image pictures that really make it. :)

Thirdly: lol Thomas Dekker. :D :D :D (I have been listening to his terrible song about being John Connor a lot lately and so I just have to GIGGLE every time I see his face. But really he would be a great Mac and now I want to see him with blue spiky hair all the time. All the tiiime.)

Kaya is from the second generation of Skins and she can totally, totally play psychotic but also really draw you in. She's fab.
Candice was easy as pie to cast. I felt like Gina was almost too obvious, but she was so incredibly obvious for a reason, and I couldn't resist.
SMIDGE CAN PLAY ANYTHING. She would so relish that rule, too.

The thing about Thomas is that he's so completely not professional emo kid John Connor in real life. He's sort of a hyperactive energetic snarky little dorkface, and he could bring a lot of awesome as a witty-yet-socially-awkward computer nerd. Just. ALL THE HEARTS.

Also the Aaron and Lynn Echolls casting is verrrry sneaky. (I dreamed about Lynn Echolls last night. No lie. She was in some sort of... service position at an elementary school position I was visiting? Like a cafeteria lady, maybe? IDEK. Out of everyone on VM, I dream about Lynn.)
The Keith Mars one is perfect, too. And Weevil. Generally I get more excited about one that fit that I recognize, but those two are great anyway. And SMG as Lamb! HAH!

Not sure how I feel about the Logan girl, but Jason Dohring is so quirky and particular I think he would be almost impossible to re-cast as a woman. I'm impressed that you managed, and I do think that top picture of her in black and white captures something of his fey quality.
Alison Janney looks creepily like Van Clemmons. So funny! The Trina actor: PERFECT. Same with the Lilly actor, spot-on.
Dianna Agron as Duncan makes me laugh. I have actually thought about writing fic where Duncan was a girl, and I was going to use her. It just makes sense; she has similar coloring and eyes to Amanda Seyfreid.
I love your choices for Dick, Meg, and Kendall. They're spot on.
SMG as Lamb is SO not what I would have expected, and my first reaction was somewhat indignant because of my Buffy love, but at the same time, she works perfectly. She definitely has that scary bitch side as an actress.

I love Emma Stone so much, sad to see her as a pyschopath! But I may be influenced by just seeing Easy A (love, love, loved it).
The Harry-Lisa switch made me giggle -- very clever, especially the opposite picture thing.

Anton and Kristen Bell actually have a lot in common, acting wise. Interesting.
I've only seen Keke Palmer in Akeelah and the Bee, but she was pretty awesome in that. Dianna Agron, Thomas Dekker, Candice Accola, Emma Stone, Gina Torres!
