lirazel: An outdoor scene from the film Picnic at Hanging Rock ([ats] shanshu)

Look! I made a poll!

1. Gah! I got up and read through my post from last night, and there was grammar!fail everywhere! So many wrong words! Why didn't y'all tell me? I'm so embarrassed!

But I seriously blame it on how hopped-up on upset-ness I was because of the race!fail argument (wow. Awkward syntax much?). My apologies.

2. [livejournal.com profile] angearia has obliged me, as she is wont to do because she is wonderful, and written me Buffy and Spike ice skating fic! The Cutting Edge references! Flashbacks to Fanged Four days! Flirty adorableness! A title from a Frost poem! Greek mythology references! General sweetness! Go forth and read!

3. I was surprised and delighted by all the Angel/Darla love in the thread last night. DARLA DARLA DARLA. It inspired me to do a poll!

The first question is just about Angel's canon relationships (and no, Spangel shippers, "one time" doesn't count as canon--sex only counts as a relationship if you do it often enough ;D), and you can only pick one. With the second: go wild!

One caveat on that one, though: I think a lot of us are of the opinion that just about any pairing can work of the author is extraordinary. But this isn't a crack!pairing-that-might-work-under-the-right-circumstances questions. It's more a, "Can you imagine various scenarios in which a variety of various decent writers could make this work?" Or, alternately: "Pretend these people are real. Which one would really work?"

And the final question is just me being silly.

I don't actually think of Buffy and Angel as soulmates (though they could be destined for each other--destiny isn't necessarily a good thing), but they have an interesting relationship dynamic that I like to watch sometimes. (Thus the Darla answer in the first question.)

I haven't really known you long enough to be shocked by anything you say....

Great observation (Macbeth could tell you as much!). I would love to read a fic in which Buffy and Angel are soulmates, destined to be together through all eternity, and it's a horrible thing and they hate it.

B/A is actual the kind of dynamic I'm guaranteed to be least interested in, so whenever they're together I get bored. But I can see why it appeals to other people.

Yeah, that last question doesn't work for everybody. But I hope you enjoyed the TICKY answer!

I have a scene planned in DeadWar which an OC connected with (but not working for) Wolfram & Hart tells Angel that yes, he and Buffy are destined to be together...and that he ought to screw destiny, because it's a bad thing.

I've also already written the scenes where she gets him to admit that he and Darla were in love. *sniffle*

Well, you might get your wish if the comics go that route. Personally, it's the only result I can see that's palatable, but what I want rarely equals what happens in the comics.
