I think it’s interesting that generally, it’s Lewis’s boy characters who always screw up worse than the girls. And I don’t think it's that he had a “ooh male characters are just more deep” thing. I get the sense he genuinely thinks boys are more fallible and girls have a better head on their shoulders. See, that exchange between Edmund and Lucy that goes “Girls don’t carry a map in their heads.” “That’s because our heads have something in them.”
