Yeah, exactly. What we have is a collective action problem--given the forces arrayed against change have all the money and resources, it would take a huge number of us working in sync to change things in a big way, and that's just hard!

But still:

We can all wake up tomorrow morning and decide, for example, to have no more war. There is nothing that fundamentally prevents it. That's not the way it's going to happen, but it's a state that is possible in principle. I think about that all the time.

This is true, and it matters that this is true.
