Today is, according to whedonesque, according to imdb, Buffy's birthday. She's 29.

Next year, she'll be 30, which is crazy awesome. I propose that we have a Buffy fic-a-thon that day, celebrating her kick-ass-ness and depth as a character. I have no idea how to go about actually doing this, and I'm like the least Type A person ever, and this is a bit early to even suggest such a thing, but I think it should happen (that was me, suggesting that someone else do the actual organizing. Subtle. That's me!). And I think it should be an ecumenical exercise: all fans of Buffy-the-character, regardless of other affiliations (aka shipping).

Anyone?

[ETA] As beloved_77 has pointed out, I was remiss in designating it a fic-a-thon. Obviously, it should be a Buffy-a-thon: fic, meta, vids, icons, graphics, fanmixes, anything at all! All to celebrate Buffy!

That was my first thought! I want Buffy to have a happy birthday! And all the characters I love are still out there somewhere, carrying on.

Good idea! Although, perhaps a general-a-thon (fics, icons, etc.) would be good, for those of us, like me, who would like to contribute but don't write fic.

But yes: absolutely, including anything at all that celebrates Buffy: meta, graphics, fanmixes, vids, anything at all. I admit that I don't usually think of those things because I don't produce them, but I absolutely love it when other people do!

Although I fear for my wallet: if the Buffy icons are awesome, I might have to have even more userpics!

Every time I add a new Buffy icon, I think I might pull a Gabs and go all Buffy. But then I remember all my other icons that I love and I cannot do it. But I easily could, and one day I might!

[ETA] By the way, have you seen the most recent turn the thread in question has taken? It's gone the "But Buffy's bad, too!" route, which is interesting; I assumed somebody would start to say the same thing about Spike!
