Fandom Friday: Fannish To-Dos

Is there anything you want to finish before the end of the year? A show you want to watch the last episodes of, a book you want to read, a fannish project you want to complete?

I have a WIP I've been working on for months that would be a PERFECT fit for someone's Fandom Tree, and I really want to make myself finish it in time! The problem is that it keeps getting longer and longer and longer....

But I still plan on spending some time this weekend working on it! Fingers crossed!

I did already do my big fannish to do for this year, which was to finish that damn spuffy fic that I started 15 years ago :D (seriously, even if I hadn't done anything else fannish this year, finishing fic that made this a successful year for me :D)

(my other fannish resolution was to catch up on Doctor Who, but in the end I just gave myself the permission to not watch the rest of 13 and just skip straight to 14)

But I'm hoping to get inspiration to do my personal "write a Yuletide treat in 24 hours on Christmas eve" challenge that I last did in 2021. I have three letters bookmarked for a possible treat so let's see if inspiration strikes this year.

I would really like to finish watching Legend of Fei as I've got... 15 episodes or so left. I like the show but it's also so low stakes that it's very easy to take a break... for months. XD

I also would like to finish a fic fill for fandomtrees as well as one of my shorter WIPs, though I don't really see the latter happening. Too much other stuff to do and there's only two weeks left. T_T

I really wanted to write three treats for Yuletide (I try not to set myself goals ... and then I find the goals just intrusively pop into my head without me setting them), but I was worrying the third one wasn't going to happen — and then suddenly it just all came together at the final moment. There'll be some editing happening this weekend, but I've got my three treats (plus the main gift, which of course is finished; I would never start a treat if the gift wasn't complete).

Like you, I have an idea for Fandom Trees, and I'm hoping I'll be able to work on it next week. We'll see how things go.

Fingers crossed for your own WIP — I'm sure it will make the recipient very happy, particularly if it ends up being long!

I have to finally get up my last slate of book reviews -- the faster I can finish grading these remaining 40 essays, the faster I can get to it!
