XD Apparently? Seriously I'm glad someone gets it. I found the whole "if you like a male character then you have a crush on him" a really reductive explanation! And this whole post and its comments had made me think more about how important male characters were for me regarding escapism, and how that escapism led to a distance that made it possible to explore other things! I guess that's why I find them so important in both reading and writing (just as important as female charcters, but in different ways...)
