Arabesk is very confusing to read, but I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. It would be just the level of identity porn and mindfuckery that would work on an audience as a limited series (say 12 episodes) today when you don't need fillers. (Caveat that the book is 20 years old and I read it around 15 years ago, so I have no clue how well it holds up scrutiny today.)

Yeah, the less we say about RoP the better it is, but it was the first that came to mind when I read your question. ;)
