First off: Happy Easter! And a belated happy Passover! And happy spring (or fall, if you're in the Southern Hempisphere)!

Now:

I will never sleep again.

Because I started making icons, y'all. MAKING ICONS. It's so addictive that I've spent hours and hours in the last couple of days thinking, "Just one more." UUUUUUGH.

Anyway! Since these are the first icons I've ever made and this is my first icon post, I'd love some feedback, even though I don't think anyone on my flist is familiar with the shows. Constructive criticism would be great, since I've been trying to teach myself with tutorials. Some of them I'm really proud of, others aren't so great, but hey: it's a start! I decided to include ones that I'm "meh" about in the interests of posterity. I'd especially love some thoughts on the ones where I didn't get the colors quite right, and if you can point me to any tutorials that are super useful, I'd greatly appreciate it.

so there's been a meme going around on tumblr where someone gives you four actors and you create a movie for them to star in. i made some graphics! and i thought y'all might like to see them! i made movie posters!

So a couple of weeks ago, Sadie and I were having a typically silly conversation about who has an excellent enough face to play Rapunzel in a live-action version of Tangled. And, being Sadie (aka: ridiculously ridiculous and evil), she challenged me to cast ALL the Disney ladies. "I don't even care about Disney that much!" I shouted. But the casting director in me got the better of me, and now here I am with the most random picspam ever.

This was fun but also challenging (especially finding someone who was actually Roma for Esmeralda, since I had dedicated myself to getting ethnicities right as well. Oh, also getting the right ages was hard at times as well, but this is fantasy anyways, so it's not like it matters). So...here we go.

Aaron Sorkin is a ridiculously talented man. The West Wing is a ridiculously awesome show. But one way in which they both fail is in portrayals of people of color. Charlie Young was written into the show specifically because they didn't have any characters of color--the epitome of tokenism. But our world isn't whitewashed, and neither is the White House, and this is what it might look like if the characters from The West Wing had their races swapped.
