So there's one of those fic meme things going on here, very fun as usual.

Someone prompted with Draco/Blair, so I finally got to write them! So incredibly fun, and they're totally my crossover pairing of choice at the moment. Sooo...if you're interested:

French Suite

*This does not mean that you'll actually get cookies. It's a metaphor for me loving you a lot!
Another location drabble turned [livejournal.com profile] choco_cherries  entry.  [livejournal.com profile] ineffort, that devious genius, came up with the most random crossover pairing ever, and I had to try it out.

(  Take Five )

Prepare yourself for the longest post in the history of posts.

Well, I’m taking a break from studying for finals to rant/squee/flail/snark about TV, because I’m me like that. Also, hopefully, I’ll be able to catch up with y’all sometime soon.

Anyways. Gossip Girl. Any of you who actually care about my thoughts on TV are probably already aware of the fact that I am watching this show for these reasons and these reasons only:

1. Blair
2. Chuck
3. Eric
4. Blair and Chuck
5. The promise of the return of Evil!Dawn Summers (otherwise known as Georgina) and her evil bitchery
6. Dorota
7. Chuck and Blair

That’s it. I don’t care about one other thing on this show. My facebook status at the moment is: “Lauren wishes that Blair and Chuck (and Eric) would get their own show so that she wouldn’t have to deal with the EPIC FAIL that is the other characters.” Which pretty much sums up my attitude towards the show at the moment.

Lots of thoughts on Episodes 2.9-2.12 )

So yeah. I’m not that pleased with the show in general.

But the one thing they have been getting right? Is the one thing that matters. For a show that is as rough and uneven as this one in most areas, most of the time they really do get Blair and Chuck right.

I have had lots and lots of reasons to flail. And lots and lots of reasons to angst out. Which makes me a happy girl.

Blair and Chuck, 2.8-2.12 )

Which brings me to this week’s episode. Which I loved with all of my heart.

But first, the stuff I didn’t like:

Spoilers 2.13 )

But there was a lot to love.

Blair and Chuck 2.13 )

Oh, and I read this hilarious theory about Lily's big secret here:

Speculation for the future )

Also, I desperately, desperately want Dorota to be Gossip Girl. Because how hilarious would that be, her sitting behind the scenes, laughing manically as she wreaks havoc in the "scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite." YES PLEASE.

So I really doubt anyone read all of that. But I had fun writing it!

Y'all, make my whole entire day and give me a character from one of my fandoms (a character you know I actually like, please), and I'll give you some items from my personal canon.  Because that is the funnest game ever (and yes, you can do repeats from previous personal canon posts.  Any character I like).

personal canon )

This one is a combined entry for [livejournal.com profile] choco_cherries  and an early birthday present for [livejournal.com profile] madcap_shiny , because this is a pairing we've been talking about for months now.  Happy birthday, Kyrie!  I hope you enjoy it!

Title: Last Kiss
Fandoms:  Veronica Mars/Gossip Girl
Characters/Pairing: Eli "Weevil" Navarro/Blair Waldorf
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 300
Prompt: Goodbye
Summary:  He swore--no more rich girls.

See?  Apparently, all I needed was a prompt, because I whipped this out so quickly, I cannot even tell you.

This is the most twisted thing I’ve written since Adam/Elle, though I suppose that’s the nature of this pairing.  It’s also the most fun I’ve had writing in a while.  And I do kill off someone (someone who isn’t Blair or Chuck.  Or Eric.  And who cares about anyone else?) in this, so if you’re really sensitive, you might want to stay away.

Title: Passport Smiles
Fandom: Gossip Girl
Characters/Pairings: Blair/Chuck
Rating: Rish
Disclaimer:  Title comes from the Joni Mitchell song “People’s Parties.”  Blair and Chuck and their crazyhotinsane relationship don’t belong to me.
Dedication: For May, because that was a totally awesome prompt.
Summary:  “They've got stamps of many countries, they've got passport smiles…”  Five times Blair and Chuck run into each other in a foreign country and like it.

I really, really want to write Blair/Chuck.  Badly.  Unfortunately, I just can't seem to get started.  Prompt me, please?  Any time period, AU, whatever.  Seriously, just start throwing ideas at me.  Maybe something will stick.  Like spaghetti on the wall when you know it's done.

Can you tell I'm tired?

Also, did anyone else notice the fact that there are at least three Chucks in various fandom TV shows?  Gossip Girl, Pushing Daisies, and Chuck itself.  I don't think of that as being a very common name, really, but there you go.

Yeah.  Tired.

By far the best line on this week’s Gossip Girl?  “Who watches TV on a TV anymore, anyway?”  Oh, Eric.  Why are you so completely kick-ass?  I’m totally in love with that line, even if it’s ridiculously self-aware and perhaps too broad of a wink at the audience.  It doesn’t even matter.  It’s still perfect.  And Eric’s the one who said it!

If you’ve seen the episode, then you really need to go read this synopsis.  I laughed so hard I almost fell off of my bed.  It’s too funny.

And it’s right about everyone being out of character this episode, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it.

So.  Despite the total OOCness of this episode, I still enjoyed it.  A lot.

But I still have yet to see this week’s Heroes, and I’m flipping out more than a bit.  I have a feeling that this episode might be it for me.  Like, goodbye, Heroes.  I always said that would only happen if they killed off Noah Bennet, but I feel like I can make an expception when they’re killing off anything remotely approaching logic.  My disbelief can only be suspended so far.  So hopefully I can watch it tonight, and then expect a ranty post sometime later.

Also, hopefully later this afternoon/tonight I’ll be able to start catching up with y’all and replying to any previously-left comments.  And also maybe write my new [livejournal.com profile] choco_cherries  entry.  Till then….

+ Guess what I just watched the first three episodes of? Oh, yeah. Doctor Who, that's what.

+ I am tempted to buy this totally kick-ass Gossip Girl t-shirt. Except that I really want it to say "Blair and Chuck and Eric and Georgina" instead. Because those are my fav characters. But I think this might be a waste of money considering that I never wear t-shirts. Never. Tell me what to do?

+ Also, watch this video and make yourself laugh:

Hey!  I'm back for a matter of hours and I'm immediately inundating you with one of those posts where I ramble and ramble about a show that I should have been watching for years now and so it's all old news for you.  But I'm a new convert to Gossip Girl, dang it, and though I should have listened to Izi and May and started watching long ago, I'm now so flail-y about it that I just have to share.

So!

Strictly speaking, I should hate this show.  Teen dramas are not my idea of fun (unless they're crazy smart like Buffy or Veronica Mars, but neither of those are typical at all and I don't judge them by the same standards) and I'm more drawn to sci-fi-ish, high concept dramas (well, Friday Night Lights doesn't fit into this category, but it's the exception.  Also, I just bought season 2 on DVD and I'm going to actually watch it all the way through soon, just so you know).  Also, the last thing I typically want to watch is moral-less millionaires revel in their own wealth.

But I don't care waht anyone says.  This show is a satire.  Or at least (mostly) maintains the tone of a well-written one.  It has to walk the very thin line between melodrama and being too tongue-in-cheek, and in its best moments, it manages to do both.

that chuck bass-tard! )

But!

There are two characters so awesome, so snarky and horrible, so well-drawn that I will put up with any level of mediocrity in order to experience their awesomeness.

Okay, I'm giving up on the suspense thing.  It's not like you didn't already know who they were.

damn that mother chucker! )
Wow.  That was crazy long.  I doubt anybody actually read all of it.  But I had lots of fun writing it!  And it's always exciting to gain a new fandom, especially one with characters as awesome as this one.

Also, who's been watching Fringe?  Is it good?  I tried to watch the pilot and couldn't make it through it.  But if anyone I trust enjoys it, I'd be willing to give it another chance.  J.J. Abrams and I have such a love/hate relationship, so I need advice on this one.

Oh, television.  How I'd missed you.
