THE CROSS-A-DRABBLE MEME

I've written a Julie Taylor/Cassidy Casablancas (Friday Night Lights/Veronica Mars) drabble here.
I have been working on this for months and months now, off and on.  Here it finally is--I hope you enjoy.  I still haven't seen all of Season 2 (which I will do soon), so if there are any mistakes, let me know.

A London-y post soon.  But first, this, because I've been working on it forever and am still not satisfied, but I finally threw my hands up in the air and decided to post it.  I hope you enjoy it anyway.

Characters:  Dean Winchester, Matt Saracen, Buffy Summers, Malcolm Reynolds, Molly Weasley, Adam Monroe

Caveat:  Does this really need an angst warning?  Yeah, it's severe.  But the subject matter demanded it, so it's all May's fault.  Blame her.
Dedication:  For May, for the really great prompt.  I hope I do it justice.
Summary:  Six kinds of heartbreak you don't recover from: Dean Winchester, Mattt Saracen, Buffy Summers, Malcolm Reynolds, Molly Weasley, Adam Monroe

Finals are done!  *throws confetti and does a happy dance*  So now I can have my life back!

Thirteen days till London!  *throws confetti and does another happy dance.  This will be a lot of confetti to clean up later*  I couldn't be more thrilled!

Life update coming, along with me trying to catch up on my flist, cuz I missed y'all.

Till then:

This is what I do in class instead of actually paying attention.  It's a wonder I make as good of grades as I do.

Personal Canon

Here it is, Izi.  The product of the prompt you gave me for the "6 Degrees" challenge.  I had so much fun writing it (as you can probably tell by the length). Thanks for the awesome prompt!

Also, the title is taken from an Anne Sexton poem, which doesn't feel very Dean-like, but then, this is a fic about three strong women, so I guess its feminist author seemed appropriate.  Let me know what you think--if you have any better suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

This meme (which I stole from [profile] that_september) is so ridiculously hard.  You have no idea.  I mean, just narrowing down to five items in each category?  Just about killed me.  And I may have to come back and change things later.   But it was fun, nonetheless.

Along comes "Bad Day at Black Rock." If I say that this is my favorite Supernatural episode of all times, is that going too far? Perhaps so. But I was hugging myself with happiness throughout the episode. I loved every single moment of it.

Prepare for a long, rambling stream-of-consciousness fangirl squeeing.

And now for some thoughts on Friday Night Lights.

I love television way too much.
...but I won't.  And this week reminded me why.

Heroes )

In other television related news, I'm finally going to finish season 3 of Buffy today.  I'm pretty excited.

And I've been working on a Lit fic and been going back and watching all the Jess episodes, which has been a whole lot of fun.  But my sister has misplaced the third DVD from the third season which I know has lots of Jess, and I cannot find it.  I also can't find a place to watch it online since tv-links.co.uk's provided link is not working.  I'm pretty ticked off/disappointed about that.  But I'm having a whole lot of fun writing my first Gilmore Girls fic, so I guess it makes up for it.

I love television.

Y'all, I have been writing like crazy lately.  Which is probably not a good idea, considering how much reading I need to be doing for school, but I just can't stop.

I want to be Tami Taylor when I grow up.

I wasn’t very taken with Friday Night Lights during the first several episodes; it was good television, but I wondered what everyone was raving about.

But now that I’ve gotten through the season, I have to admit my defeat.  I love this show.

It makes me miss high school football so badly.  I’m not a sports person, by any stretch of the imagination.  I am hopelessly uncoordinated and tiny to boot, so no sport comes easily to me.  And I don’t watch any of them either.  But there’s nothing in the world like a high school football game in a community that really cares about them.  Nothing like spending hours before the game painting shirts and your faces with your friends and then tailgating.  Nothing like the build-up to a game with a rival.  Nothing like the band and the smell of popcorn and all the people screaming their lungs out.  It’s a false feeling of community and union, maybe, but for two hours you really feel like you are absolutely one with the people around you.

Like I said, maybe it’s a shallow, bankrupt American substitute for real community.  But that doesn’t mean I don’t miss it.  And this show just absolutely takes me back there.  Every single episode.

Don't you just love it when the chemicals combine in just the right way and things explode in your face?  I do.

Ingredients:
