Don't worry--more to come. These are the ones I could answer pretty easily without thinking too deeply.

Top Five Buffy/Spike moments. Today. It will probably change tomorrow.

5. The Tabula Rasa kiss. My favorite kiss!
4. “That was real.” The end of Intervention.
3. “I believe in you, Spike.” Actually, pretty much all of Sleeper and Never Leave Me. They make my heart explode with love.
2. The rescue scene at the end of Showtime. BE STILL MY HEART.
1. The back porch. DUH. (Well, every single back porch moment. But specifically Fool for Love.)

Top Five Spike moments. Again: today. There are so many this could change at any moment.

5. “Out. For. A. Walk. Bitch.” Character-driven comedy at its finest. “And…and…I never liked you anyways, and…you have stupid hair!”
4. “Every night I save you.”
3. Reaching out to touch Dawn's hair, then jerking back in the cave in Tough Love.
2. FOOL FOR LOVE. ALL OF IT.
1. BOY GETS HIS SOUL. Yeah, the actual moment is fudged by the stupid, stupid decision to do the whole fake-out thing, but just the fact that he gets his soul. Just the fact of that. Still blows my mind.

Top Five Buffy being a BAMF moments. Seriously? SERIOUSLY? ONLY FIVE? EVIL.

5. The power shot in Anne that was used at the end of the credits for so long.
4. “Welcome to thunder dome.” She fights the ubervamp while giving a speech. Whatever, fandom. I love her speeches.
3. Telling off the Council in Checkpoint.
2. “Me.”
1. Getting up and facing the world every day during S6.

Top Five Buffy and Faith moments. I had trouble with this one because y'all know I rarely rewatch S3 for a number of reasons. So these are moments between them that aren't during S3.

5. The dream where they’re making the bed. I think it’s a very nice moment.
4. When Buffy tosses Faith the scythe in Chosen.
3. Their reunion scene at the beginning of Dirty Girls. Buffy punches Faith, Faith steals Buffy’s stake, awesomeness ensues. “Are you the bad Slayer now? Am I the good Slayer now?”
2. “Don’t. Be afraid to lead them.” OH THAT’S MY GIRL. OH BUFFY.
1. Hot chicks with super powers. HELLS YES.

Top 5 Ice Cream Flavors

Top 5 Moments of Anya Being Awesome. Um, every moment of Anya's existence is awesome. These are just the first ones that popped into my head.

5. Two words: Frying. Pan.
4. The dance of capitalist superiority
3. She died fighting the good fight, and there was really no reason for her to be there. She had no special powers at that point, and she easily could have taken off again. But somewhere down the line she became the kind of person who doesn’t run from scariness. I wish that moment had been respected more.
2. “IT MUST BE BUNNIES!” Basically, any time she sings in either OMWF or Selfless.
1. Her humanity speeches--but the one in The Body about death and the one about humans not giving up in…End of Days?

Top five couples in all of literature.

5. Katniss/Peeta. Or maybe they’re just on my brain at the moment? I don’t even care.
4. Valancy/Barney, The Blue Castle
3. Eden/Cabot, Yankee Stranger
2. Mara/Sheftu, Mara, Daughter of the Nile
1. Alex/Winter, Shadow of the Moon

Top five ladies on TV (ever).

5. Brenda Leigh Johnson, The Closer. Competence is awesome, and even better with a Southern accent.
4. Veronica Mars. Because she's smarter than you.
3. Tami Taylor. Perfection in every way.
2. Julia Sugarbaker, Designing Women. Fierce, sassy, gracious, beautiful, funny, feminist. Plus, she’s a monologueing, kick-ass big sister.
1. Buffy Anne Summers. Duh.

It's a toss-up for me with The Golden Girls, but Julia Sugarbaker and Dorothy Zbornak like defined my adolescence.

From: [identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com

I've never really watched much of The Golden Girls, but I think I need to do something about that.

From: [identity profile] eleusis-walks.livejournal.com

Oh, you must. It's marvelous. Probably the most perfectly-crafted sitcom cast of all time. All lady sitcoms since totally work off the GG model.

From: [identity profile] blackfrancine.livejournal.com

Oh! You should! Golden Girls is one of those shows that you look at now and are like "Whoa. How did THIS get made in the late 80s?" Because it's just got so much groundbreaking, gutsy, hilarious stuff in it. Topics that sitcoms today don't even try to touch. And Bea Arthur is a goddess.

From: [identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com

I have heard nothing but excellent things about it, but it was just never on at my house, so I've never seen it. But I'll look into it! It sounds a lot like Designing Women, actually.

OMG. The Golden Girls is my I Ching. Favorite forever and ever!

From: [identity profile] blackfrancine.livejournal.com

YES. I'm older than you--but these shows STILL defined my adolescence. I shit you not: My best friends in high school, we all took both a GG and a DW character as our, like, alter egos or something. There was no point to it--it was just the character that we were most like. (I was Sophia and Mary Jo.) Good times.

From: [identity profile] eleusis-walks.livejournal.com

I will forever be a Julia-leaning-Suzanne and (accordingly) a Dorothy-leaning-Blanche but I think Sophia and Mary Jo are good ones to be also.

1. Her humanity speeches--but the one in The Body about death and the one about humans not giving up in…End of Days?

Anya's questions in 'The Body' make me tear up - everytime!

2. Mara/Sheftu, Mara, Daughter of the Nile

YOU ARE KIDDING ME.

NO FUCKING WAY.

Okay, that's it, I could seriously not adore you more if I tried.

(PS: "FOOL FOR LOVE" FOREVER & EVER & EVER & EVER &C. EVER. BEST BEST BEST.)

From: [identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com

HAHAHA! Honey, you have no idea how many times I've read that book. So. Many. I basically spent all of middle school reading it over and over and over again. I love that you love it, too!

(BEST. YES.)

From: [identity profile] marketchippie.livejournal.com

It's a spies-in-love story set in ancient Egypt. In the regime of Hatshepsut, HBIC of the BC. WHAT IS BETTER THAN THAT, EH.

1. Amy/Rory. SO MUCH LOVE.

Lol, love that so many of these are from VD. And how many I ship too. :)

First of all, you killed me dead with: 1. Getting up and facing the world every day during S6. as a BAMF moment. I love you. My love for you is eternal and... and... effulgent. Seriously.

And your number 3 Buffy/Faith moment? I love that scene so hard. When Faith asks if she's the good slayer now with that genuine bewilderment... I die. So funny.

Last--let's talk ice cream, sister. Because seriously? We could get together and have an ice cream party. Pistachio gelato is only the greatest thing ever. And you also included peach--so I ask you, have you tried Ben and Jerry's "Willie Nelson peach cobbler" ice cream? It is SO good. And, hey, Willie Nelson! So, bonus.

From: [identity profile] penny-lane-42.livejournal.com

Seriously, I don't think anything she ever does takes as more courage and awesomeness as just facing life in S6.

My love for you is eternal and... and... effulgent. Seriously.

As is my love for you!

That scene is awesome! And Spike's standing there all indignant at being compared to Angel! And Buffy's protecting Spike! AH! SO GREAT!

Ice cream party! Sounds like a plan! If you're ever in this neck of the woods--or if I'm anywhere near wherever you are--this should happen!

I haven't! But I'm fond of Willie Nelson! And peach cobbler! YUM!

I love this post so much. Seriously. I want to be wordy and flail more but I'm kinda all worded out from writing. Just know that there is LOVE, ok?

Also, I think you need to start recommending books to me which I will read and then come talk to you about them.

Perfect BtVS choices are perfect. The back porch scene in "Fool for Love" will always be my favourite Buffy/Spike moment (duh, I have an icon) because it says so much while actually saying very little.

From: [identity profile] diachrony.livejournal.com

Oooh. You read Mara, Daughter of the Nile? And you are a fan? OMG. I never thought I would see that mentioned on LJ. I LOVED THAT BOOK. I READ IT OVER AND OVER ... years ago. I bought a copy for my BFF's daughter a few years back, wanting to share the goodness ...

I must read it again!

4. “That was real.” The end of Intervention.

*_* That kiss.

SMG is so, so great in that episode. As jaded Buffy, as uber-happy Buffy-bot, and THEN as Buffy-pretending-to-be-Buffy-bot.

From: [identity profile] mollivanders.livejournal.com

You love pistachios! You put it on the list twice! :) Nom nom nom

I love your top 5 Anya moments. Seriously, every time she was onscreen I was happy, and then the ending </3 I wish it had been respected more too.

YESSSS KATNISS/PEETA WORD WORD.

None of your Buffy or S/B thoughts surprise or are disagreeable to me. ;) YOU. ♥
